I’m so excited to share with you the finished living room ceiling. The pictures do not do it justice. My favorite element of the ceiling re-do definitely has to be the additional lighting we had installed. The six recessed canned lights bring in so much needed light, and the fact that they’re on dimmers….it’s like icing on the cupcake! I always say that styling and decor in a room creates 50% of the room, the other 50% is created by the lighting in the room. A good rule of thumb is to have at least two light sources in each room. For example, in the living room we have the recessed canned lights which are on dimmers, there are the wall sconces, and lastly, we have a ceiling fan with overhead lights. Depending on the mood I’m in or what we have going on, I’ll turn on just one light source or all three. It’s wonderful! And it really makes the space look much more elevated design-wise.
If you don’t remember how the living room ceiling looked before we tore down the plaster, take one last peek:
I cringe every time I look at those pictures…but cringe no more because the ceiling now looks like this!
