There are so many projects to tackle around the house it’s difficult to choose where to start. Finally, I decided we tackle the pantry and tear out the old shelves and built in cabinet. So one night, I put my brand new crowbar to good use and started the demo process.
The removal of the old cabinetry revealed a dark hardwood floor underneath…..and missing base boards. The dark hardwood floor means we will have to refinish the entire kitchen which we’re ok with since the kitchen floors are pretty beat up anyway and will benefit from a nice buff and shine. And we’ll be replacing the missing base boards too. I also took a washcloth and soap and scrubbed the heck out of the nasty wall.
We have to finish speckling the walls, sand, and paint and we’ll be a few steps closer to hanging the pantry shelves.
Hands down, I am a lover of white ceramic dishes, but when I saw these beauties I think I may have been converted. How can you say no to these adorable tea cup sets and dotted plates? Um, yeah. I thought so. I think they would look awesome displayed on kitchen wall shelves such as the ones that are currently trending in the blogosphere. Or, if you prefer, you can show off these beauties by placing them in glass front kitchen cabinets.
White kitchens are all the rage lately. With all this house hunting that we’ve doing lately, I can’t help but to think and daydream about what my kitchen will look like one day. There is something so refreshing, clean, and inviting about white kitchen cabinetry. I would pair my beautiful white cabinetry with rich chocolate brown hardwood floors. Sigh…..
These drool-worthy kitchens are what have been inspiring me lately.
Seems like subway tile is making a comeback, I’ve been seeing it all over the blogosphere lately. Look at the beautiful pendant over the island.
I am loving the motif backsplash tile in this kitchen.
I think the glass overhead cabinets, they add so much lightness to a kitchen.
Check out Victoria Hagan’s kitchen published recently in the glossy Architectural Digest. Love, love, love everything about it, especially those gigantic lamps, and overhead glass cabinets. And how about that beautiful vase and flowers? Gorgeous.
