Our Ikea closet has arrived. Woo-hoo!
It took us a couple of days to build it, but it’s finally up. Couldn’t be more relieved and excited that I can finally finish putting away all of the misc. stuff that’s been lingering all over the apartment. And for those of you wondering, it was surprisingly easy to put together.
If you look closely, the closet looks to be a little lopsided….it’s because the floor is uneven. We will eventually find a piece of wood to put under the closet to raise it a little so it’s parallel on the vertical axis.
We did have a mishap though. We broke the frame of the closet the first time around. Oops. This is how it went down (pun intended). We assembled the frame on the floor, as the instructions indicated to do so, and as we lifted the frame to stand up it seems as if there was too much pressure in the edges where the pieces connect and they slowly snapped under pressure and boom…the frame collapsed completely.
Luckily, because we were following the assembly instructions, we were able to take it back and exchange it for a new one. Whew!
We’ve even started organizing our things in it. Looks good doesn’t it? I’m loving the drawer wire baskets, so handy and the best part? I can see what’s in there. The hubs got dibs on the fancy-shmancy shoe rack. Boo to that.
